As you may know from our About page, in my previous life I was a sportswriter. I worked for several companies, including SB Nation, Sporting News, and NBC Sports. Now that Matchstick Golf is my pride and joy, I'm still involved in sports but in a much different way. So I was surprised and elated when I found out that writer and golfer Gabrielle Herzig had featured Matchstick in her spread in the February 2023 issue of Sports Illustrated.
I of course ordered several copies for myself and my family, and I'll soon get the sheets framed and put somewhere in my house. The feature includes our friends over at Jones Sports Co., as well as the guys at L.A.B. Golf, Bluegrass, and Pinned. And of course, there's big boys in there as well — can't forget the Taylormade irons or the Callaway Paradym driver.
Thanks again to Gabrielle for looking out for us little guys. Matchstick has been a dream to run these past couple of years, and we couldn't have ended up in one of the world's biggest and most well-recognized sports magazines without all of you. Thank you for supporting Matchstick, buying the product, and telling your friends about the dope golf gear you've been getting from us.
