About the Roosevelt Golf Fund

Fund Details

The fund is an effort led by Matchstick Golf to help fund youth golf in our local North Portland neighborhood. After inviting the Roosevelt High School golf team to our workshop in 2025, we realized they did not have much of the same equipment that other public high schools in the Portland Metro area enjoyed. This made it difficult for the kids to play, and even resulted in many golfers being turned away who wanted to be on the team.

Matchstick provides its own product to the boys and girls teams on an annual basis including but not limited to: golf headcovers, ball markers, bag tags, hats, clips, towels, production services, and club repair.

We believe golf is for everyone, and the Roosevelt Golf Fund is an effort to ensure that the youth of today can enjoy the sport we all love, so it's strong tomorrow.

The fund has two primary sources of donations in the form of direct contributions and in revenue generated by Roosevelt-themed product sold on Matchstick's website.

Those who want to contribute can give a direct cash donation, or purchase Roosevelt product via the school's collection page here on our website.

At the moment, contributions are not tax deductible. Since the fund is managed by Matchstick Golf, we are unable to provide any taxable benefit. However, this may change in the future and we hope this does not discourage you from helping to provide for youth golfers in need.

How to Get Involved

Yes, you can contribute directly to the fund via the fund's link here.

You are welcome to set up a one-time or recurring donation, depending on your own wishes.

If you'd like to contribute a larger sum, explore a sponsorship, or donate on-course goods like clubs, balls, gloves, and shoes, please contact us.

Absolutely! We always need new or gently used golf clubs, shoes, rain gear, balls, gloves, or anything else you can think of that would be of benefit to the kids.

Whether you're an individual, a business, or another golf company, we'd love to discuss how you can contribute. Send us a message here to coordinate a gear donation.

We would love that. Matchstick is leading the charge with the Roosevelt Golf Fund, but it's a team effort.

Whether you're a corporate sponsor looking to donate cash, cover or defray the cost of gear, or another golf company looking to contribute product in exchange for sponsorship recognition, all avenues are open.

Send us a message so we can discuss available sponsorship opportunities.
